Rare first Rubber Dubber pressing of this classic boot (later re-pressed by TMOQ). The bootleg came out sometime around June 1970 with slipsheet and full printed green&black labels. The material has pretty nice sound quality and is from two PBS Television shows: A Night at the Family Dog and Go Ride The Music, both produced by music critic and Rolling Stone co-founder Ralph J Gleason. This LP collects all Jefferson Airplane songs from both TV specials.
In We Can Be Together, Paul Kantner included the line, Up against the wall, motherfucker (note the spelling Up Against THE WALL MOTHER F... on the cover) which led to a long struggle betweeen the band and RCA over its inclusion. The company finally backed down and the band played the song on the Dick Cavett Show on August 19, 1969. The phrase referred to the Dada-influenced anarchist affinity group of the same name based in New York City. |
