This is a 90s or later (probably around 2006) reprint of the rare bootleg August Children - First Step In The East on Extra Records which was limited to only 300 copies. It has a part from the first concert the Stones ever gave in East Germany (German Democratic Republic) - in pretty bad sound quality (hardly any bass). On the record are the first 14 songs from the show, missing the first one and three songs between side 1 and 2. The title and cover art are pretty humorous, since Erich Mielke was Minister of State Security in the GDR for 32 years. He had been expelled from membership in the Socialist Party almost one year before the concert and was charged with two murders and arrested two months after the concert. The record begins with an excerpt from his most famous appearance on TV - being laughed at by the members of the GDR parliament for saying "But I love - I love all - all people..." on 7 November 1989.
White cover, white labels, front (see scan) and back (typewriter) inserts. |
