A test pressing is usually pressed during the mastering process in order to check if the matrix (which is going to be used for mass production) is perfectly mastered. The recording or track order is sometimes changed afterwards. Test pressings usually have simple covers (with typed inserts) and standard record company labels (sometimes handwritten). They are sometimes one-sided.
